God's Favorite Animal is from Houston, Texas. GFA was created in late 2009 by Martine after The::Dee::Use went on hiatus. At that time GFA was Martine playing upright bass, singing, and operating a drum machine. In January, two female drummers (Mayra & Sally) were added, and they also took on singing duties. This incarnation didn't last long though, and the search for a percussionist was on. Shortly, Martine would be joined by his wife on sampler, and on drums the talented Isaias Gil. Mary Walenta replaced Isaias on drums, and Martine's wife left to pursue other artistic endeavors. After a brief gap, long-time producer and artistic collaborator Anthony Tran joined God's Favorite Animal as guitarist and Melissa Fair joined taking on vocals. GFA is currently seeking a drummer.
