There are two known bands that go by the moniker Go Figure: (1) Go Figure was an alternative rock band based in Connecticut that existed from 1991 to 1994. Go Figure had a wide range of stylistic influences, but was perhaps best-known for its funk- and jazz-inflected style of alternative rock, garnering comparisons to bands like The Police; Royal Crescent Mob; Living Colour; Fishbone; The The; Red Hot Chili Peppers; Talking Heads; The Clash; Oingo Boingo; INXS, etc. The band’s live performances were marked by their high energy, their sense of humor, and their level of engagement with the audience. The "classic" lineup of the band consisted of Jeff Steblea (lead vocal), Brian Ayles (lead guitar), Matt Hamilton (rhythm guitar), Mike Suter (bass), and Dave Hamilton (drums). Tom Craig (bass) and Peter Sikoski (lead guitar) were also members of the band at some point. Most of the band’s original songs were written by the team of Brian Ayles and Jeff Steblea, and lead singer Jeff Steblea's distinctive baritone drew comparisons to singers such as Jim Morrison and David Bowie. The band released its sole CD, La Luna, in 1993, and its most popular song was Hum Beba Lee, which garnered significant radio airplay on college and commercial radio. The band broke up in December of 1994. Jeff Steblea went on to found his music project Mystics Anonymous, and Dave Hamilton has played with several artists since, including Hypnotic Clambake and Mystics Anonymous. (2) The band Go Figure
