Formed from the depths of personal despair in 2017, Gloomchild are a group who seamlessly blend metalcore with dark synths, classic orchestration and post rock in order to craft a sound that is wholly their own. It’s a new breed of dark rock that pays clear tribute to sonic ancestors that. The end result is a sound that sets Gloomchild in a league of their own, thrilling listeners with their performances and driving towards ever more impressive heights. Since their formation the band has released three full lengths and an EP. Though they’ve undergone the turmoil of lineup changes, they have come out stronger each time and are now a more cohesive unit than ever. Their distinct sound has taken a few years to develop, but now it’s reached a point where the group’s emo-tinged flavor can’t help but to entice devout listeners. The latest offerings hint at what more could come from these underground devotees and long time veterans of the DIY rock scene. Each release drives toward a heavier, darker sound that will come to fruition on their new record, Summer’s Over. They want to be able to push the overarching story of Gloomchild while focusing on characters and stories interwoven into their music, building a clear path to absolution.
