Gland Pageant is an experimental noise project from Massachusetts started by Ian St. George. Around mid-February in 2011, St. George began using a fuzz-wah and mic to play around with tracks, such as Brian Eno's "Discreet Music", and tracks from the experimental compilation LP "The Fight Is On". The equipment used for "Ambient Wound" consisted of: a Fender fuzz-wah pedal, A mic hooked up to it and put up to the turntable speakers in order to sample and tweak with the tracks, a Tascam US-144mk2 to record into, a turntable, and 2 LP's, which are Side A of Brian Eno's: Discreet Music", and both sides of "The Fight Is On". There is also a mic put up to a humidifier and a heater as ambiance for track 1, First Wound. The album was completed within 3-4 days and the result was Gland Pageant's debut, "Ambient Wound". At the beginning of March, St. George started the Dead Bell Records label. Since early November, the live line-up has become a trio or duo going in much more of a noise rock direction, despite the fact that the group is a trio live, St. George still does most of the home recordings as a solo project.
