Artist
Grandson of a Portuguese poet, singer and guitarist Dan Sena started Give Until Gone with bassist Jim Schwartz in 1997. Guitarist Jamie Cechin and drummer Jason Welsher joined and the band recorded their debut EP, only to be told by their label that there was no money for a CD version. Impressed by Give Until Gone's heart-wrenching tunes sung over crunching guitars, California label Dim Mak stepped in and signed the band. After Whatever Works was released, Keith Divel (Stickfigurecarousel) came in as the new second guitarist. This lineup appeared on what would be the group's only LP, Settled for the Art Official, released in the spring of 2000. Matt Horowitz then stepped in on drums and Tommy Coatney later joined on guitar. The final lineup lasted for about a year before Give Until Gone called it quits in July 2001.
