Giraffe Attack is a three-piece rock and roll band based in Portland, Maine. If you see them out, you’ll most likely hear them playing a mix of their own songs and cover tunes they love. Their repertoire ranges from The Beatles and Led Zeppelin to Bob Marley and the White Stripes, with many surprises in between. Giraffe Attack also has a built-in love for writing and recording original music, much to the pleasure of their live audiences and loyal fans. At a Giraffe Attack show, you won’t see typical stage antics, jumping around, or egomaniacs pretending to be music gods. What you will see is four great musicians clearly enjoying performing their favorite songs for anyone who wants to lend an ear. Giraffe Attack’s cover songs are not your run-of-the-mill standered bar covers. They have a tendency to play the much appreciated but neglected-by-radio songs by that bands that everyone knows and loves. From the beginning, the nucleus of Giraffe Attack has been Eric Bettencourt (lead vocals and guitar) Chris “The Cheese” Chasse (bass and vocals) and Ryan Cyr (lead vocals and drums). Members of the band have been hard at work recording a full-length album, The Sound of Naked Women, to be released sometime during the late summer or early fall.
