Giovanni De Marinis (Bari , 16th century - ...) was an Italian composer. Giovanni de Marinis, composer and choirmaster of the Bari Cathedral , was probably the teacher of Giovanni Pietro Gallo . In 1596 he printed in Venice the First book of madrigals for six voices , in which 13 compositions are by Marinis and one of his pupil Gallo [1] ; he in turn included music by the maestro in the Primo libro de madrigali , published in Bari on 25 August 1597. Marinis 's Secondo libro de madrigali for six voices was published in 1601, also in Venice. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
