Giovanni Stefano Fontana Morello (Biella , 16th century - Vercelli ?, After 1634) was an Italian composer, organist and presbyter. Originally from Biella, in 1614 he was organist in the church of the Madonna di Robbio , which was then part of the diocese of Vercelli . In 1617 he was appointed canon of Santo Stefano in Biella, a place which he renounced on 29 December 1634 to accept the appointment as canon of Santa Maria Maggiore in Vercelli , where he is presumed to have died. He published two books of sacred music : The first book of sacred concerts à 2, 3, 4 v. , Milan, Filippo Lomazzo, 1614 Masses, Motetti, Miserere, et letanie of Our Lady to 8 v. , Milan, Giorgio Rolla, 1633 Both books are known in a single surviving copy, kept in the Capitular Library of Aosta . In particular, three out of four parts of the first book survive, while only a part of the original ten of the second.
