Gideons Army is a Christian rap group comprised of three individuals: Darnell Sapp, Vincent Porter, and Trenton Sapp-representing the 300 soldiers God used in battle (Judges 7). Hailing from Chicago's south side, the group was formed at Mt. Joy M.B. Church under the leadership of Pastor Anthony Covington. These young men are on a mission for Christ and using the talents He gave them to do the 3 things; 1. praise and edify the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour 2. spread the gospel of the Lord to this dying world so that some lost soul may be saved and 3. have fun doing it! Their music is far from the norm as they often give listeners an in depth look into their own personal lives-the good and the bad. With non-compromising lyrics, Gideons Army comes straight from their source, the Word of God, to relay a message in a way this generation can understand. Being able to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in such a unique way has been a blessing for these young men and if their music can change the life of just one individual, if all has been worth it!
