Artist
Starting from old analog synthesizers and cosmic rock improvisations, Giancarlo Toniutti studied electronic music at the Conservatory in Venice in the early eighties. His interest in visuals, installations and other art forms has been reflected in many of his works and other phenomena simply defined by Toniutti as "sound sites" as well as projects based on heterogeneous approaches to sonic acoustic materials. Since 1985 Giancarlo has worked only with acoustic sound-sources using analog treatments (magnetic tape etc). He has worked with many artists, including Siegmar Fricke, Andrew Chalk, Conrad Schnitzler and James Wyness. He is the brother of Massimo Toniutti.
