Giacinto Calderara (Casale Monferrato, 12 marzo 1729 β Asti, 16 settembre 1803) Γ¨ stato un compositore italiano. Biography He received his musical education in Naples. And from 1749 until his death he was choirmaster of the Cathedral of Asti, where he discharges various positions: teacher of young singers, conductor and director of the performances and above all was an active and prolific composer. He wrote three operas, among which the most famous is Ricimero, performed at the Teatro Regio in Turin in 1756 and repeated 21 times. In matter of sacred music he wrote 145 psalms, 21 masses, many Kyrie, Gloria and Credo, motets and other pieces of liturgical music.
