Ghost like girlfriend (岡林健勝/Kenshou Okabayashi, born July 25th,1994) is the solo project of Japanese singer-songwriter and track maker Kensho Okabayashi from Awaji Island. Originally from Awaji Island, Hyogo Prefecture. He began composing music in 2011, during his second year of high school. He moved to Tokyo in 2013 to attend university, and around the same time began performing live under the name Kensho Okabayashi. He began performing under the name Ghost like girlfriend in 2017 and made his indie debut with Beacon Label that same year. He made his major debut with EMI RECORDS/Universal Music in 2019. The origin of the name is as follows: It's been six years since I started writing songs, and my favorite song I've created during that time is "When I Was a Ghost." I chose the words "Ghost" and "girlfriend" from that. Also, the name of the independent label I started when I was making my own albums had the word "like" in it, so I put those three words together to come up with this name.
