Kelsang Metok (Chinese spelling “Gesangmeiduo”) was born on October 10, 1984 in Gyalrong region of Tibet. In 1997, she won the first prize at the Aba Youth Arts Festival, and became a favourite apprentice of a famous singer Namkha Dolma. In 2000 she joined Ngawa Kelsang Lak troupe as a solo performer.
