Gerson Lizama (Viña del Mar, Chile) is a guitar composer and performer. After 10 years of anonymity, during which he worked as a session musician and arranger, in July 2019 he launched his solo career as a guitarist, in an eclectic composition style, being strongly influenced by classical music, Latin American folklore and Jazz. His first works have focused on the exploration and consolidation of his musical identity, taking as a starting point and inspiration, the flora of his country, publishing in the last year 2 works for Guitar: • Guitar Suite No.1 – Desierto Florido A piece inspired by the climatic phenomenon of the “Flowering desert”, when a purple, yellow and white flower beds that cover the surface of the driest place on earth: the Atacama Desert, Chile • Guitar Suite No.2 – Fantasía de Arboleda A work inspired by a journey through the south of Chile, in which he uses as a symbolic axis the native trees of his country (Chile): Alerce, Avellano, Araucaria and Raulí. •2020: Reflexión Botánica Album At the end of June of this year, he decided to publish an LP that compiles his previous work in 1 concept: The botanical reflection, the musical introspection on the study of the flora of his country, relaunching his work re-mastered by Caoba Records, independent record label. The composer is currently in the process of recording his new LP consisting of 25 Guitar Miniatures, which will be released at the end of this year. User-contributed text is available und
