Artist
Noise and Digital Grindcore act begun in 2003 with Ep entitled "Slay the Beast" on Tin Cans and Twine Records. The ep was both brief and loud, and coincided with the rise of other "digigrind" bands such as Scissor Shock and Hara-Kari Kitty, both of whom GWT would eventually work with. The band name "German War Tank" is often a lamented choice by it's creator, who had, "in cartoonish impulse, chosen an ironic, flashy name" (Harux interview 2006). As the artist has progressed, the music has shifted styles from Agoraphobic Nosebleed styled drum machine and vocals short grind songs to longer, more experimental, noticably tongue in cheek, noise songs. In 2006 German War Tank called it quits, only to, quiet recently, announce a new album forthcoming in 2008.
