Artist
Gerald Fried (born 13 February 1928) is an Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning composer and musician from New York City. He attended what is now Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School as an oboe major and went on to play in numerous groups such as the L.A. Philharmonic and the Little Orchestra Society. He became a composer through "luck" since he "was the only musician Stanley Kubrick knew." After working in Kubrick's "Day of the Fight", he went on to a long and prolific career making film, television, and video game related music. His credits include 'Star Trek: The Original Series', 'The Man From U.N.C.L.E.', 'Mission: Impossible', and 'Roots'.
