Based in Toronto, Canada, bassist and vocalist George Koller also plays 'cello, guitar, sitar, dilruba, mandolin and piano. Originally from Edmonton, Koller started his career as a jazz bassist with the Shuffle Demons. He went on to collaborate with Holly Cole, Loreena McKennitt and Julie Michels. With over 500 CD credits as a studio musician, Koller also has four albums on his own label (ZSAN): "Music for Plants, Animals and Humans", (solo album) "Singing Naked" (with Julie Micheals), "Internal Arts" (yoga meditation music) and "Travelin' Light" (solo album). Besides obvious jazz influences, Koller has studied and been inspired by Indian music. Koller has a large collection of Indian instruments and has recorded with the Toronto Tabla Ensemble. Besides his professional career as a musician, Koller also practises yoga and has also produced a large body of work as a visual artist. Other artists that Koller has toured/recorded with include: Bruce Cockburn, Olivia Newton-John, Peter Gabriel, Ian Tyson, Dizzie Gillespie, Moe Koffman and Mary Wilson (The Supremes).
