Artist
Gene Krupa (January 15, 1909 β October 16, 1973). Was an influential American jazz and a big band drummer and composer, best known for his highly energetic and flamboyant style. Krupa made his first recordings in 1927, with a band (Gene Krupa Band) under the leadership of banjoist Eddie Condon and Red McKenzie: along with other recordings by musicians known in the Chicago scene. Just thought you'd know that In 1943, Krupa was arrested for possession of two marijuana cigarettes and was given but a three-month jail sentence. Amazing man.
