Gene Ezell is a singer, songwriter, and musician who lives in New Smyrna Beach, Florida and Signal Mountain, Tennessee. He has been writing lyrics and music for over 30 years. He grew up singing in his church choir, and then sang with a traveling evangelistic team during his college years. He also began his creative pursuits by writing poetry in college, an endeavor that has continued until today. About ten years ago, Gene started adding melodies and instrumentation to his lyrics. Gene plays acoustic, electric and bass guitar. He currently plays bass and sings with the Worship Team in his church. He has two CDs of his original work, Original Anthology and Eclectic, both produced by NewDay Records, an indie label in Ringgold, Georgia. He is currently working on a third CD of original songs with Eric Copeland of Creative Soul Records in Nashville, Tennessee. Most of his work is Contemporary Christian and Praise and Worship; however, he also has written ballads and country. He is a member of several music and songwriting groups, such as BMI, GMA, Songwriters' Guild of America, and Nashville Songwriters' Association (NSAI). He has performed his songs in various churches in Tennessee, Georgia and Florida. He is married to Cynthia Ezell (38 years), and has one daughter, Megan, who lives in Nashville.
