Gendang Lima Sedalanen is not one specific group, rather the major type of ceremonial ensemble of the Karo subgroup of Batak people from North Sumatra, Indonesia. Gendang Lima Sedalanen means "five instruments playing together" and consists of the following instruments: Sarunei (an oboe type instrument), gendang indungna (first drum) gendang anakna (second drum), two gongs and sometimes vocals.
