Gazzmann has been DJing since 1996 and having played many varied genres within the dance scene throughout the years he finally settled into the Deep House groove, although remaining true to his early Progressive House influences by sculpting gently building musical rhythms, jazzy deep summery moods and tough hypnotic techno grooves within his sets. Gazzmann loves his music and not just that within the club scene. He has a great amount of musical knowledge and cites influences through a broad spectrum of styles and genres. From Ambient and Lounge, Electronic and Indie, right through to Folk and Rock. With a little bit of everything else sprinkled in for good measure, basically just good quality music. This has lead to him hosting a monthly Podcast called The Eclectic Selection (espuk.tumblr.com) which features such great music. In the past Gazzmann has worked with many great DJs, especially Dave Oliver, while trying to bring the sound of the Underground to York. Having ran his own nights for over 8 years in various guises including Region2 and Widescreen, and at various venues including Dusk, Blue Fly, The Basement, Judges’, The Junction and The Speakeasy (now Stereo). These projects have taken a back seat after the birth of his daughter in January 2011 and for the moment it’s all about The Eclectic Selection, so keep your ears peeled for the new sound of eclecticism in York and the name that is Gazzmann!
