Musicians Josh Lerner, Phil Andrews and Maggie Schreiner first met in the Brooklyn-based radical marching band Rude Mechanical Orchestra, an activist street band. late 2011, with the addition of guitarist Lior Hadar, they took to the basement of Flamingo Palace to rehearse and emerged to play the 2012 JFEJ Purim party, a radical queer Jewish institution. They have released a 9 song album entitled "Too Sensitive" via Bandcamp, have toured the Mid-Atlantic, the Northeast and Canada, and played various local venues (including Lone Wolf, Trash Bar and Public Assembly) and houses in the queer scene of Brooklyn. If Lior Hadar's jagged, angular guitar chords remind you of a Johnny Marr acolyte on a jazz kick, that's because he spent years training as a jazz guitarist while listening to the Smiths. He and bassist Phil Andrews spend hours in free-form sessions in the Flamingo Palace basement, as well as trade riffs via email. Hadar also plays in the three piece queer punk band Kitty and the Fags, appears as a solo artist under the name Music Was My First Gay Lover and played guitar in the popular off-Broadway musical "The Material World." Andrews is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist who has written and arranged music for the radical marching band Rude Mechanical Orchestra, the bluegrass/doowop/punk group Apocalypse Five & Dime, the junk boat art collective Miss Rockaway Armada and the brass band of the End Times Cabaret.
