Artist
Gareth Quinn Redmond is an Irish ambient classical composer and musician, whose music involves analog synthesisers, piano, violin, and found sound. His solo work consists mainly of ambient music inspired by the Japanese “environmental music” movement. His 2018 album Laistigh den Ghleo was both directly inspired by and released along a re-issue of Satoshi Ashikawa's pioneering album Still Way (Wave Notation 2), released by WRWTFWW Records. He has been extensively involved in multimedia projects, from film to close collaborations with poets. After cutting his teeth as frontman for the Dublin-based rock band, The Wrens, he also continues to double as an electric guitarist. His combination of acoustic and electronic sound has made him a frequent contributor to projects in the contemporary Irish folk scene.
