Gangrenous Toenail is the Stoner Doom counterpart of Junkyard Wizards. Formed in late 2020 during a recording session for Junkyard Wizards' upcoming album, Pusstard Man presented something he was working on to The Organ Grinder. The song was originally meant to be a psychedelic folk track in the same vein as Syd Barrett, but after some discussion, the band decided to make the song into a 14 minute "Heavy as fuck" doom track titled Smashing Atoms, heavily inspired by albums such as Dopesmoker, Ladoga and Welcome to Sky Valley.
