Gadzooks is an American hip hop/underground rap artist based out of Southern California. Heavily influenced by west coast legends such as The Pharcyde and Jurassic 5, as well as a thick mixture of acts ranging from Redman to Andre 3000, Gadzooks manages to blend West Coast swagger with East Coast lyricism and delivers it on a platform that is all his own. His debut LP, the independently released “Will Rap for Diapers”, contains a handful of tracks that can best be described, as the saying goes, as ‘all killer, no filler’ and touches on multiple subjects from poverty and homelessness to fatherhood and coming of age. However, despite it’s raw emotion and serious nature, “Will Rap for Diapers” is entrenched with humor, quick wit and clever wordplay as is demonstrated on tracks such as “The Men’s Room”. The song “Lethal Madness”, which features a cameo by Kansas City rapper Mac Lethal, was released in September 2010 and aired on a South Dakota radio station, as well as world wide via internet radio, the day after its release. The song has since received widespread acclaim and was included on Mac Lethal’s compilation album, “Special Reserve 9". In 2010, Gadzooks recorded a short promo song on which he gave recognition and paid respect to the South Dakota radio program that had given him and many other independent artists air time.
