Gabriel Sullivan is a born and raised Tucsonan who, with his debut release By The Dirt, captures and reconfigures some of the wide spectrum of the Tucson, AZ multi-ethnic culture and richly diverse music scene. Gaining valuable experience playing bass and singing for the garage/hard rock group The American Black Lung (Uprising Records), Sullivan has taken the years of traveling and hard times on the road and molded them into his first solo album. Released on Tucson's Fell City Records, By The Dirt features Calexico’s Joey Burns and Nick Luca and Wavelab Studio head Craig Schumacher among many of Tucson’s finest musicians; the album covers everything from “... twisted show tunes; hard-twangin'/slide guit-fueled devil's music; mournful country-folk and filthy, noirish blooze" (Fred Mills, Blurt Magazine).
