San Jose resident Gabriel Black continues to cement his status as a rising star in the world of House Music. A 12 year veteran behind the production controls, Gabriel has begun to turn the heads of House Music’s most discerning ears. With early influences from Tech-House legends like Terry Francis and Nathan Coles, 2007 marked a critical juncture in Gabriel’s career when his single “Atmosphere” was picked up by Q-Burns & Atnarko’s venerable EIGHT-TRACKS imprint. Receiving accolades from some of the biggest DJs in the land, “Atmosphere” introduced Gabriel Black to a wider arena and began to carve a path for future projects. Today, his productions and remixes can be found on a host of quality labels like Jump, Blunted Funk, and his own Tangible Recordings. Equal to his production resume is Gabe’s experience behind the decks. A former college radio DJ, Gabriel has continued to play quality House Music alongside some of the biggest names in the game for the past 10 years. In 2008, he teamed up with Arturo Garces to create “Get Down,” a weekly Tuesday night party at San Jose’s Cardiff Lounge. During the past 3 years the event has grown exponentially and is arguably the premier House Music event in the south bay.
