Kingston upon Hull, UK (2005-Present) GST Cardinals are a five-piece British indie rock band from Kingston upon Hull, UK. Formed in 2005 by songwriting partners Dave Sinclair (vocals) and Matthew Robinson (lead guitar) as well as drummer Ollie Boyce. After several changes, rhythm guitarist Alex Day and bassist Ryan Thornton completed the current lineup. As well as constantly playing live around Great Britain, the band has toured the USA twice, Germany twice and also played in Sweden. They have supported acts such as The Sunshine Underground, The Holloways, Good Shoes and Carl Barat, toured with Towers of London and played regularly with fellow Hull band The Paddingtons. In November 2008 the band released a split EP with The Fades through independent label Cranky Girl Records. In January 2010 the band announced that it had signed with Cranky Girl to release its debut album. As a stop-gap, the band released a download only Live EP in July, before their first single proper, All Time Low. Shortly after releasing the All Time Low single, Ryan Thornton left the band to attend university. He was replaced by Liam Turnbull.
