GALAXXIES is a Canadian collaborative music project fronted by music producer/vocalist Garrett Gengler and vocalist Marcile Wilmot. GALAXXIES musical style is experimental, alternative/indie pop music. The band is influenced by an infinite number of talented artists, ranging from M.I.A., M83 and Crystal Castles to Beyonce, Amy Winehouse, Bjork, Nguzunguzu, Grimes, FKA Twigs, JoJo, Naked and Famous, Black Eyed Peas...calling their influencers 'endless'. GALAXXIES is a project based on many parts becoming one constellation, just as a physical galaxy. They strive to blend genres and art forms, combining visual art with sound. GALAXXIES was formed in 2010 through a shared love of music, singing and performing. To gain popularity, the duo began recording covers, posting them on sites such as SoundCloud and YouTube in 2013. Their cover of David Guetta’s Titanium was passed to Canadian International Band Dragonette following their 2013 Klondike Days set. After connecting, the two bands got in contact via email, spawning GALAXXIES’ “Let It Go” cover. After the success of their covers, the duo went on to create Galaxxies - EP, a compilation of their recent original work as a band. The two began recording and developing songs, with frontman Garrett Gengler as the producer, engineer, mixer and art director for the project.
