Kurmangaliev Garifulla (1909-1993) - singer (tenor). People’s Artist of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan State Prize. Born in the Urals Region. Shyntas and Shaiki, the apprentices of people’s composer Mukhit, had great influence on his creative formation. G.Kurmangaliev was one of the founders of the national opera. He, with his beautiful voice, matured to a prominent opera performer. For many years, working at Abai Kazakh State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, the artist created the whole gallery of images in the operas Zhalbyr, Er-Targyn, Kyz-Zhibek, Aiman-Sholpan by Ye.Brusi lovsky, Birzhan and Sara by M.Tulebaev. The Kazakh folk songs Ainamkoz, Ismet, Boz zhorga and also his own compositions: Ak Zhaik, Nurzhamal, Akku took up a special place in the singer’s repertoire.
