He was born in 1960 in Antakya. In 1977, he began his music education at Istanbul Municipal Conservatory Turkish Music Department. Koçak, who finished the "Dârül'elhân" which is the oldest and longest established institution of our traditional musicals in 1983, started as a musician as " Artist Instructor " in İcrâ Deyetin in the same institution . Between 1981 and 2000, he worked in the Istanbul Sema group, led by Nezih Uzel . Here; Bekir Sıtkı Sezgin, Kani Karaca, Riza Rit, Hafız Kemal Tezergil, Necdet Tanlak, Izzet Eskidemi r worked with such valuable masters In 1989 and 1994 he participated as a concert soloist at the Istanbul Festival in the İcra Delegation. Between 1995 and 1998, he worked as an assistant to Bekir Sıtkı Sezgin , one of the greatest commentators of Turkish music, on many CD and TV programs. Between the years 1995-2005, he founded Music Music and Cultural Association of Turkey, METU Alumni Association Turkish Music and Aygaz - OPET Turkish Music Choruses and performed many concerts by giving Turkish music lessons to these amateurs. He founded "Otantik Türk Müziği Topluluğu" in 2000 and has performed concerts in close to 100 Turkish and ethnic music fields both in Turkey and abroad. Between 2002 and 2010, he served as Chief of Istanbul University's Conservatory of Turkish Music Delegation.
