Gäy are a post-punk band from Grenå, Denmark formed in 2011. The initial lineup was made by Asger Overgaard (lead vocals, guitar), Jonas Thetmark (guitar), Jakob Emil Pedersen (bass) and Thor Pedersen (drums). While their musical style have evolved over the years it's drawing heavily on new wave and punk of the late 70's and early 80's, proto punk as The Modern Lovers, soul, psychedelia and string heavy 60's pop as Scott Walker, Mamas And The Papas and classic Phil Spector productions. In the mid 10's a fair amount of hype was surrounding the band who released a string of EP's and singles throughout the period. This led the group to tour England, getting some media attention and eventually getting signed to British label Zoo Music who released "Blue Blue Heart" as a 7" single in 2014. The song ended up being a hit on Danish national radio P6. Throughout the mid 10's the band also gave a string of unusually raw interviews compared to the clean cut, indie scene in Denmark at the time - openly discussing conflicts with the law, drug use, sexuality, their ambiguous relationship towards their hometown of Greenå, and showcasing their curious sense of humor which is also present throughout their musical and lyric output. he band band dropped off the radar for some years, only releasing the "Shut Up My Blue Tongue" single in 2016 and some changes of lineup was made as Tobias Williamson (bass) replaced Jakob Emil Pedersen and Christopher Flindt-Larsen took over on drums from Thor P
