In Brazil, just a few people REALLY know about garage rock. We don't have many bands playing this kind of shit there. Some bands play 70's hard-rock-heavy-metal-and-poser-bands influenced and, with the wrong concept of some hyped music critics (urgh!), everything is rated as garage rock. But, even in this jungle, some people make archeological searchings, finding the wild world of garage punkers, such as Voxx Records, "Back From the Grave", "Teenage Shutdown", "Pebbles" and "Garage Punk Unknowns" series. Among these kids, are the FUZZFACES. They started playing in 2000, as a three piece band, spooking the audiences with wild versions of Them, Headcoatees, Q65, Miracle Workers and Sonics. They played in all sorts of stinking holes with cheap equipment, but also in music festivals. In 2001 they recorded their first EP – 'We Don't Give a Fuck' - with 5 original songs. Two years later – and a track in the compilation "Brazilian Pebbles Vol. 2" - a small label asked the band to record a full album, wich they did. 'Voodoo Hits' was recorded, but a series of odd events occurred – they made a voodoo doll, took pictures at the largest cemetery in South America, sang about the devil, mental institutions and weird characters, etc, etc. As result, the label denied the release (and even got bankruptcy). Even with a lot of proposes by other labels, the CD's still unrelease – so, if you play garage rock in brazil, don't play with the devil! Besides the damned CD, they kept on spreading
