In mid-2014, it was announced that Maryland/Pennsylvanian grindcore band Full of Hell had signed with Profound Lore. Their debut release on this label is a full-length collaboration with the Japanese noise legend Masami Akita, aka Merzbow. Vocalist Dylan Walker said in an interview that they met Balázs Pándi at a show in Brooklyn who enjoyed their set and, as Merzbow's drummer, suggested that they record a split with Akita. He decided to do a collaboration instead, so he sent them 45 minutes of material to work with, and the band spent at least a year creating the album. It was released both digitally and as a 2CD Digipak on November 25, 2014. The CD release contains a bonus disc titled Sister Fawn consisting of five noise works. Walker also noted in the same interview that the main album is 70% Full of Hell and 30% Merzbow, while Sister Fawn has a reverse ratio of 70% Merzbow and 30% Full of Hell. Sister Fawn later received a limited cassette run as well as a separate digital download. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
