Friedemann Graef: soprano & tenor saxophone | Thomas Wiedermann: trombone | Thomas Wegel: double bass | Albrecht Riermeier: vibraphone, percussion | Lutz Halfter: drums Friedemann Graef born in 1949, guitarist in Rock groups, studied saxophone, flute and composition with Earle Brown a.o., diploma in chemical engeniering, Since 1975 active in the field of improvised music with own groups, toured Germany, France, Sweden, Hungary, Italy, USA, India, Brazil; besides appearances on radio and TV he released over 20 CDs with John Tchicai, Ray Anderson, Harry Beckett, Heiner Goebbels, Michael Sell, Albrecht Riermeier, Kamalesh Maitra. After 1980 Friedemann Graef was a member of an ensemble for anciant music on old instruments. The roots of European music has always been his interest. As a composer he wrote music for symphonic orchestra, choir, Jazz bands, organ and chamber music and electronic. Sacred music has a big part in it. Mr Graef recieved awards as a composer as well as an interpreter.
