Artist
Freddys debut album, Things You Never Thought I'd Say, was released independently in Canada though a small label called 7 Arts Entertainment. 7 Arts has traditionally dealt with jazz, reggae, blues, and electronica, but found his record was strong enough to be their first foray into pop/rock. The disc was made available in stores across Canada on Sept 28, 2004, through 7 Arts partnership with major Canadian distributor Fusion 3. Response at radio was warm, especially given that independent artists have an uphill climb at Canadian commercial radio. Critical acclaim followed, with Performing Songwriter Magazine declaring: With emotionally involving lyrics, fantastic arrangements and one hell of a voice, Freddy makes his Things You Never Thought Id Say a brilliant gem. The first single from the album, 'Apart', was added at CHR/Top 40, and Hot AC/AC stations across Canada, including some major reporting stations. Similarly, follow-up singles 'A Moment Away', 'Let It Go', and 'Secret' were well received. Freddy is currently working on his second album, with the help of a European production team including Jez Clover. Though born and raised in Canada, Freddy lived in the UK for 3 years, and the British influence that permeates his music is being enhanced for his second release.
