Frank-Volker Eichhorn (* December 13, 1947 in Zwickau, † January 17, 1978) was a German composer. Frank-Volker Eichhorn studied mathematics and physics as a teacher (diploma). At the same time he studied music. In 1974 he became a master student of Günter Kochan at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" Berlin. He founded the concert series Kammerstudio at the Haus des Lehrers in Berlin. In 1975 he was awarded the Hanns Eisler Prize. In 1978 he won first prize at the chamber music competition of the Dresden Music Festival. His compositions were published by Edition Peters and performed by the orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin and the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Leipzig, among others. In January 1978 he died in a car accident. His grave is in the Kleinmachnow forest cemetery. His estate is located in the Saxon State Library - Dresden State and University Library.
