Artist
Frank Perez was born and raised in the small town of Lajas, Puerto Rico where he would begin to play keyboards and DJ block parties at the age of 12. His musical studies wouldn't play center part on his life, however, until he moved to Connecticut as a teen in the late 80's. While in high school he learned how to play guitar, trumpet, saxophone and trombone; a list of instruments that would grow over time. Performing and playing different instruments is something that Frank has really enjoyed, however, writing and composing is something he loves. His interest in Ethnomusicology drove him to study and learn different styles of music from all over the world. In 1997 he was accepted to Berklee College of Music in Boston on a composition scholarship to study Filmscoring, production and arranging. Frank has performed with numerous jazz, latin, blues and rock groups nationally while composing and arranging big band and film music. After living in Miami, FL for a few years Frank decided to move back to New England, where he continues to work with artists and filmmakers in upcoming projects. His latest project was the score to Rob Nemere's dark film "Slaughter Weekend". User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
