Artist
Frank Honeyboy Patt b. 1 September 1928, Fostoria, Alabama, USA. After singing in church as a child, Frank ‘Honeyboy’ Patt taught himself guitar soon after emigrating to Los Angeles, California, in 1952. There he formed a musical partnership with pianist Gus Jenkins, also from Alabama. Two years later Patt made his first record, with Jenkins, issued on the Specialty Records label, a powerful blues evoking the scene of a murder, ‘Blood Stains On The Wall’. Although years later this came to be regarded as something of a classic, it made little impact at the time, and he had only one more record issued, in 1957, again with Jenkins. Over the next decade, he worked mostly outside the music business, but his career enjoyed a revival in the 70s, with further recording work and live appearances.
