Artist
Mexican singer Francisco Xavier achieved fame in the 1980s with a string of pop records aimed at the teen market. He later transitioned from a pure teen idol to a more mainstream performer through several collections of romantic boleros, including "Inolvidables a la Manera de Francisco Xavier" (1990); "Te Deseo Amor" (1992); and "Amor Mio" (1994). Following the release of "Te Deseo Amor Vol. II" in 1997, he retired from performing and moved into politics. Now using the name Francisco Xavier Berganza, he was elected as a senator for the Mexican state of Hidalgo in 2006.
