Françoiz Coballa is a Mexican singer & song writer born in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico. There was a lot of controversy around his supposed death in 2007. Recently, since he's been on tour and recording new material, the "dead" rumours had stopped. He is the first child of three (brother Esmé Coballa, better known as Justino Jimenez, now 16 years old and sister Émilien Coballa, now 17 years old). He was born in Mexico when his mother Ghyslain Basset (born in France in 1962) and father Leon Tourim (born in france 1957, later named Coballa) moved to Zapopan, Jalisco. He is also the grand son of one of the darkest and peculiar Delta Blues singers, Ali “The Racoon” Tourim, a son of Hindu immigrants who moved to New York City, and later replaced themselves in the Delta area. The Racoon only recorded 16 songs during his lifetime (which are in possession of the Coballa family); when he was 21 he went travelling around Europe and placed himself in France when he meet Lisette Sanxay, his first wife. They had three childs; two died from dysentery at early age and only the middle son Leon, stayed alive. Lisette leaved Ali and Leon when Leon was 13, she married a Swedish business man and Ali moved to England where Ali married another French woman called Nadine Yule. Ghyslain Basset was a photographer and a political extremist during his young age. She meet Leon when he was giving a gig on the Université d'Artois, where Leon used his father guitar which has the writing: “This Machine Kills
