Foxxxy Mulder is Kori Hensell and David Kumler. Kori lives in Fairbanks, AK, and David lives in Seattle, WA. The project began when Kori came to Seattle for a visit and David bought a 45 of Billy Idol’s “Eyes Without a Face” at a thrift store. They listened to the record slowed to 33 rpm and were forever changed. They began recording songs long-distance, the first of which was a slowed-down, fuzzed-out cover of “Eyes Without a Face.” Things developed from there. They watched horror films and wrote songs inspired by them, ultimately churning out enough material for their debut EP, Premarital Hex. Foxxxy Mulder's unique brand of darkwave blends postpunk influences with fuzzed-out, sweeping shoegaze guitar arrangements, witch-house trap beats, and moody Lynchian dreamscapes.
