Fourth Generation Rain were an Arizona based power-pop band formed in the 1980s. Originators of what became known as the Moon Valley Sound, Terry Garvin (vocals/guitar), Chris Hansen Orf (vocals/guitar), Ric Napoli (drums) and Gilbert Padilla (bass guitar/vocals) have been making music together in one form or another since the late 1970s in bands as diverse as Zen Lunatics, The Cartwheels, Dead Brains and others. Garvin has also worked extensively as a producer for many other Valley bands, helping to define the Arizona sound for a generation. FGR released two self-produced albums, a self-titled debut and a well-received followup, "The Memo Rollaround", whose title came from a warped childhood playground incident witnessed by FGR's drummer Ric Napoli. Fourth Generation Rain later morphed into Tempe power-pop faves Zen Lunatics. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
