Based in the Detroit, Michigan area Four Years Gone is a high energy four piece original rock group that writes and performs songs that have been described as happy, heavy-rock. Although seemingly an oxymoron, Four Years Gone creates this sound by combining the thick, crunchy guitar sounds of heavy metal with the vocal melodies of punk and pop music to create songs that can't help but get stuck in the listener's head. Four Years Gone's sound has often been compared to bands such as Foo Fighters, Jimmy Eat World, and Weezer. Formed as a three-piece in 2000, Four Years Gone made their club debut at the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor in January of 2001 and in the following months played shows at the Elbow Room in Ypsilanti, Jacoby's in Detroit, and Club Bart in Ferndale. While the shows went well and the band consistently outdrew the audiences of the headlining bands, Four Years Gone recognized that in order to take the band to the next level they would need a full-time vocalist and a studio-quality album. Thus, the band headed into 40oz Sound in Ann Arbor and recorded its first album Shrink My World. A couple lineup adjustments later Four Years Gone is taking it's fast paced, high energy show to the streets with the intention of catching the ear of every rock-n-roller in the Midwest.
