Four Ways to Kill a Robot is an independent music production company from Los Angeles/Orange County, California formed late in 2010 as a division of This Factory Produces Monsters, an art company founded by Juan Bugarin, visual artist, writer, multi-instrumentalist, and former guitarist of Los Angeles-based indie rock band Love Battleground. Though essentially formed as a solo project, the group has also served as a collaborative of indie artists, including vocalist Steve Rodela of Fire Trails, bassist Rj Celis of Frisbee, and keyboardist Raizy Zampir of Eclipse. Their musical style is broadly indie rock, taking influence from a number of genres, including garage rock, post-rock, pop and dance music, and electronic music. Noted for their layered often ambient atmospheric sound featuring dynamic guitar riffs set to pulsating dance rhythms and pop melodies, they have been compared to such artists as Phoenix, Ratatat, Foster the People, Hockey, Starfucker, and Bear Hands. The group is currently writing and recording demos for various projects. Their debut release, "the pink EP"—working title, is scheduled for an independent release later this year.
