Foscil is a band that glides between electronic and acoustic music with grace and agility. Their arsenal of musical equipment spans generations. Vintage analog synths nestle between virtuosic live drumming and a vintage 1980's Atari ST midi sequencer. Their musical influences include everything - no record is left unturned. What it all adds up to is one of Seattle's most up-and-coming electro-acoustic groups. Operating under the banners of the Fourthcity and Def Sow crews, they are slowly but surely becoming a force to be reckoned with. But what is it that makes these old friends so adept at reconciling the differences between styles and easing their way into the happiest medium? Perhaps it is the brothers Swan's intense psychic connection, or it could possibly be due to the simultaneous electrocution of all four band members during a performance in 1993. - B. Kalet As of September 22, 2008, Foscil is in the studio and about halfway done recording the "Residential" album. They are moving out of the studio/house they've been holed up in recording for the last 4 years at the end of October and are finishing up all of the projects before the studio gets packed up.
