Fortune Fails started with brothers Dan aka Dosey and James Smith in 2008. After a long period of playing material at various home parties Jesse Cooke, bassist, joined the band in early 2009. Later that year the band decided to thicken their sound by employing Josh Egglestone as rhythm guitarist. The band has recently released their EP and are eager to entertain, play gigs and make more music. Dosey has been playing Guitar for 14 years, growing up with many different influences from family and friends. He has learned many different genres, such as Classical, Jazz, Blues, Rock and Metal. As well as guitar he has been singing and screaming/roaring for over 8 years. Dosey composes and writes the songs for the band along with their amazing input that contributes to the end result. Jimmy has been playing drums for 13 years, starting at the age of 5 on a kit made of lego boxes. Since then he has played in several competitions and won achievements such as placing 3rd in Drumtek's "Australia's Best Up & Coming Drummer Competition 2000”, and participation in the finals of Billy Hyde's 11th Annual Drummer's Playoffs 2001. James was taught by teacher Tony Keep for three years and earned a Scholarship Participation in Forte School of Music in 1998. Jesse, a 20 year old scallywag from Hervey Bay is the bassist of Fortune Fails. He spends most of his days hanging with his friends, playing the video games or locked away studying in various arts. He currently is a film student at the SAE
