Forks and Spoons is a folk band from Chicago, IL. The band was originally formed by singer-songwriter Nathan Wilson and Norman Marston when they first met at Columbia College. They liked similar bands including Bob Dylan, Fleet Foxes, Radiohead, Violent Femmes, Old Crow Medicine Show, Neutral Milk Hotel and Adam Green. The two originally started playing music in dorm rooms and on the sidewalk while recording a demo in dorm rooms with a four-track and one microphone. Shortly after, the band finished recording the three-song demo and promoted it by either busking on the Chicago subways and streets or playing small open mics. The EP was then linked onto the internet for free and slowly achieved a small following. Nathan then went on to record several tape recordings of more recent material as notes for the band. After a late night recording session with bass player Jordan Jay, Forks and Spoons released all the notes unedited on the internet as a more lo-fi demo unlike the first more polished demo. Forks and Spoons are planning to release another demo or possibly a full length album and begin playing real shows as soon as possible.
