Bristol, England. From a laid back, dirty and messy graffiti city. Full of artistic and creative people; comes a chaotic three piece in the form Forgery Lit. Who found it hard to imagine that the music they made would ever fall into Bristol’s popular genres with the likes of Massive attack, Portishead and electronic music. That has bestowed a stigma upon the city. This trend has been carried though with dubstep and drum n’ bass. It’s hard to believe that a guitar driven band would find a place in such an environment. In the last year though Bristol has shown a taste for the plucking of string fuelled music. Slowly the melodies in people’s headphones are starting to sound more rock n’ roll gradually replacing the heavy beats and deep basslines. There are numerous worthy bands that started showing their faces on stages all around the city with a complex and angry lust for music. It was in this unique niche where the Forgery Lit trio started to feel at home. The city is still the same, but the scene is on the rise, beginning to compete with London, Brighton, Manchester and all other spots on the map that have been monopolising rock music so far. All three musicians and the band as a whole have stepped back from what is happening around them musically, having no interest in re-enacting or recreating what has been before them.
