For Those About To Love is the new musical project of Montrealers Martin Pelland, Valérie Jodoin-Keaton and George Donoso III (three former members of internationally acclaimed indie-rock band The Dears), along with two of the most achieved Canadian musicians, François Plante (Plaster, Afrodizz) and Jocelyn Tellier, guitar genius behind French sensation Dumas' catchy pop sound. Initially Pelland's project, Donoso and Jodoin-Keaton started to play key roles as they brought in their aesthetics and eventually their own songs. The word of a new musical collaboration between the three went around and soon they were asked to play their first concert for O Patro Vys' fifth anniversary party. Having decided that they could switch instruments from song to song, the members of For Those About To Love quickly realized a fourth musician was needed. François Plante joined in and immediately bonded with the band. After three gigs, they were already recognized for their solid live performance and were asked to open for Karkwa and Eleni Mandell. Despite all this positive feedback, they felt they needed to add a fifth member in order to fully achieve their distinctive dynamic songs.
